We are a group of volunteers - parents and professionals, from all across Washington, D.C. and Maryland - who believe that all families can make the best choices for their child if they have access to good information and support.

Katie is a Deaf parent who joined this organization in 2019. She shares her personal experience raising her 2 deaf bilingual children using ASL and spoken English.

Louise is a founding board member
who has volunteered with the chapter since 2012. Louise is an early intervention teacher of the deaf and a CODA. She is proud to serve d/hh children and their families through her professional and volunteer work.


Dylan is a parent of a Deaf child with additional disabilities. She is a former lawyer finding her second career in advocacy for and support of families with deaf and hard of hearing children. She joined the board in the summer of 2025.

Alexis is a mom to two toddler boys, her older son is deaf and implanted. She has worked in the private/nonprofit sector for about 10 years, focusing on program & project management and evaluation. Alexis just joined the board this year.

Nicole Hutchinson is a teacher of the deaf with a focus on early intervention. Nicole’s passion is family support programs for DHH children and their families. She is an advocate for early language access and providing unbiased information to families.

Thomas Horejes, Ph.D. has decades of academic, professional, and personal experience in early intervention including advocacy, legal analysis, and program development/assessment. He takesgreat passion doing research & development on local/state/national EHDI efforts.



Jae Aron is a mom to a Deaf daughter she's raising bilingually in ASL and English. She's deeply committed to full language access and is dedicated to ensuring families with D/HH children get the information and support they need. In addition to her personal experience, she brings over a decade of nonprofit communications experience to this work.
