We are a group of volunteers - parents and professionals, from all across Washington, D.C. and Maryland - who believe that all families can make the best choices for their child if they have access to good information and support.
Katie is a Deaf parent who joined this organization in 2019. She shares her personal experience raising her 2 deaf bilingual children using ASL and spoken English.
Louise is a founding board member
who has volunteered with the chapter since 2012. Louise is an early intervention teacher of the deaf and a CODA. She is proud to serve d/hh children and their families through her professional and volunteer work.
Connely is the Co-Coordinator of Guide By Your Side Maryland program, and the Treasurer. She has been with the chapter since 2021. She has three children with her oldest being Deaf.
Nicole Hutchinson is a teacher of the deaf with a focus on early intervention. Nicole’s passion is family support programs for DHH children and their families. She is an advocate for early language access and providing unbiased information to families.
Sarah Sohns, AuD, CCC-A is a Clinical Audiologist and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland. Her clinical speciality and passion is pediatric audiology and working with families.
Thomas Horejes, Ph.D. has decades of academic, professional, and personal experience in early
intervention including advocacy, legal analysis, and program development/assessment. He takes
great passion doing research & development on local/state/national EHDI efforts.
